A new viral epidemic appeared in the Western Hemisphere in the last years. This epidemic transmitted by an Aedes mosquito poses challenges for public health, especially for unborn children. We will provide an update on Zika epidemiology including incidence, location, risk factors, pregnancy outcomes, prevention and control:

1. Summarize the evidence on the incidence of Zika

2. Summarize the research on risk factors and pregnancy outcomes

3. Summarize the research on prevention and control of Zika infection
